Ridgeland High School, located in Rossville, Georgia, is nestled in the Georgia ridges just below Lookout Mountain. Several communities are represented in the student body including Flintstone, Lookout Mountain, Fairview, Chickamauga, High Point, Kensington, McLemore’s Cove, and the city of Rossville. Our school is located 4.1 miles from the city of Fort Oglethorpe and 2.5 miles from the Tennessee/Georgia border. The site location is a rural area that sits next to the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park.

History

Ridgeland High School was founded in 1989 and was formed as a result of merging two high schools: Chattanooga Valley High School and Rossville High School. The feeder school patterns are comprised of both Rossville Middle School and Chattanooga Valley Middle School; Cherokee Ridge Elementary School, Rossville Elementary School, Fairyland Elementary School, Chattanooga Valley Elementary School, and Stone Creek Elementary School

The Academies of Ridgeland

Ridgeland High School operates under the concept of academization. Every student is a member of an educational academy: College and Career Academy, Honors Academy, and College Prep Academy. Each academy strives to build relationships and offer flexible options to meet the learning needs and goals of all students. The educational focus is to teach the curriculum at a high level of academic rigor, and customize learning by providing remediation, enrichment, and acceleration
