Riflery Team Competition Schedule

Ridgeland and LaFayette’s Riflery Teams, in conjunction with the Northwest Georgia Friends of the NRA, will host Walker County’s first Friends of the NRA Banquet on Saturday, March 10, at the Walker County Civic Center in Rock Spring. The event starts at 6 pm and includes dinner.

Money raised helps Georgia in many ways. The general focus of Foundation grants is to promote, advance and encourage firearms, shooting sports, and hunting safety, as well as to educate individuals with respect to firearms, firearms history, and participation in the shooting sports, hunting safety, and marksmanship. Grants also help conduct research in furtherance of improved firearms safety and marksmanship facilities and techniques.

MANY great items will be auctioned that night to include a Kimber Custom II .45 ACP and Silver Stag Knife, an AR Guitar signed by Ted Nugent, many other firearms, along with jewelry and youth items.

Tickets are $35 single or $65 couple. Table packages are also available. At Ridgeland, see Coach Carl Gentry, or at LaFayette see Coach Perry Fouts for tickets. You may also get tickets online at https://www.friendsofnra.org/eventtickets/Events/Index/11

ONLY 9 OPPORTUNITIES LEFT! This comes to only .40-cents per each raffle!

125 CHANCES TO WIN! Chances don’t get much better than this! Ridgeland’s Riflery Team is assisting the Georgia Friends of the NRA in this incredible opportunity. Here’s how it works.

Every Monday and Thursday of each month, for the entire year on 2018, firearms will be given away! Some months, as you’ll see in the calendar pictures attached, many more than that will be given away. In fact, 125 firearms in total! These are from well-known manufactures such as Glock, Smith and Wesson, Remington, Benelli, Walther, Ruger, and Mossberg, just to name a few. Everyone entering is eligible for ALL of these firearms; it doesn’t matter if you’ve already won one!

There is a website to see the winners each week, but, of course, the winners will also be contacted. You must be 21 and a Georgia resident to enter this raffle.

The cost to be entered in ALL 125 drawings is only $50. We only have 22 opportunities left. I wanted to give our Ridgeland Family the first opportunity for this before spreading the news to our community on Facebook, thorough our Riflery Team athletes, and a meeting I’m attending tonight. I will even hold one for you if you don’t have cash or a check with you today. Just let me know.

Thanks for your support of our Riflery Team! Good luck!

Followed by a single-elimination tournament, for the top eight teams who will compete for the league championship.

In each game the teams compete in what is known as a Standing Air Rifle match. The match is almost identical to the air rifle events in the Olympic Games. Each athlete shoots 40 shots in the standing position, the most difficult position in rifle competitions. Each shot is worth a maximum of 10 points. The sum of points scored in the 40 shots is the athlete’s total. The team score is comprised of the best four athletes from each team.
